| The number of drivers caught by speed cameras looks set to
double over a single year motoring organisations have warned. The
government's commitment to increasing the number of speed camera's
on our roads will mean that the total number of motorists trapped
will soar. Critics have argued that whilst the
issue of speeding needs to be dealt with, the governments policy
could risk criminalizing a large number of respectable drivers who
have never had any problem with the law, but could inadvertently
break the speed limit by as little as four or five miles and hour.
For many drivers who have been driving perfectly safely for years
this news will come as a nasty shock. Individual motorists face the
risk of losing their licence and possibly even their jobs. Companies
whose employees depend on their cars could find themselves not only
losing one of their key players but also having to deal with the
loss in revenue whilst one or more of their employees are off the
road.
Many motorists are now looking at ways to soften the blow of a
speeding conviction. The ease with which someone can lose their
licence has led many drivers to look for a way in which they could
keep both their business and social life on the road.
ChauffeurPlan is designed to keep motorists on
the road when the unexpected happens. The policy kicks in if you
lose your licence through speeding or totting up points, if you
suffer any kind of injury – sporting or otherwise – and also if your
car is stolen or vandalised.
At ChauffeurPlan we don't condone speeding. Our
ChauffeurPlan insurance policy is designed to help drivers who rely
on their car to get around and might inadvertently creep over the
limit.
The governments' commitment to increasing the number of
speed cameras on our roads will mean that it is relatively easy for
sensible drivers, with years of experience to pick up points on
their licence. If they then lost the use of their car through a
driving ban the impact on their work and social life could be
devastating.
The flexible scheme will pay for taxis for up to a year or even a
chauffeur to get you from A to B. ChauffeurPlan represents
excellent value for money with premiums starting from as little as
£6.50 a month and four levels of cover to choose from.
Motorist and businessman John Clarke knows only too well how easy
it is to inadvertently exceed the speed limit. Running late for an
appointment after some bad traffic, Mr Clarke was driving along the
A5 near Shrewsbury, unfortunately missing the sign informing him
that the speed limit was being reduced to 60mph from 70mph – his
licence was revoked for six months.
However thanks to his ChauffeurPlan policy he was able to stay on the road. Mr Clarke said:
“I didn't see the speed camera and it came as quite a surprise when
the letter came through the post. I can't recommend
ChauffeurPlan
highly enough – it helped me keep my job and my social life. They
paid out extremely quickly and efficiently and were very flexible,
allowing me to employ someone to drive my car for the six months I
was off the road"
